The U. S. Coast Guard Academy, located in New London, Connecticut, invites applications for a part-time, temporary, non-tenure academic faculty position in either Oceanography or Marine Geology for the Spring 2007 semester commencing 3 Jan 2007.

The successful candidate will teach either an undergraduate course in Oceanography for non-science majors, or Marine Geology for Marine Science majors. Candidates should possess a Master's Degree in Oceanography, Geology, Meteorology or a related field from an accredited university. A Ph.D. degree and undergraduate teaching experience are preferred.

The United States Coast Guard Academy is a highly selective federal military college providing a rigorous undergraduate program along with the professional education and training required to prepare young men and women for careers as commissioned officers in the United States Coast Guard. A full-time faculty of just over 100 offers eight academic majors: civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering, naval architecture/marine engineering, marine and environmental sciences, operations research, government, and management.
