Dear MTS Student Member: We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to apply for scholarships from the Marine Technology Society. The deadline of April 16, 2007, for postmarked applications is fast approaching, so apply now to take advantage of these annual awards. Applications are available at the Marine Technology Web site: www.mtsociety.org/education/student_scholarships.cfm Instructions on what you must include in application packets are as follows. With the exception of the Dieter and ROV scholarships, apply for all MTS scholarships for which you are eligible by submitting just one application packet. Both the Dieter Scholarship and the ROV Scholarship have their own application forms. Scholarship money is sent to college Bursar Offices, not to scholarship recipients. In addition to the MTS scholarships listed above, you may be eligible for the ROV Scholarships, which are for students interested in remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) or work that supports ROVs. Scholarship available are one at $5,000, one at $2,500, two at $1,250; and three special MATE scholarships, one at $2,500 and two at $1,250. These scholarships are open to all graduate, undergraduate and high school seniors who intend to pursue a college curriculum directed toward a career in marine/ocean sciences or engineering, or a closely related field with an emphasis on ROV technology.
