ABS has an immediate opening for Engineers with experience in offshore mechanical systems and piping design. At ABS you will make a difference in your industry and work with an exceptional team of professionals. EOE Job Responsibilties: This position will work on offshore mechanical and piping systems. In a consultative manner, you will perform plan approval via the review of design and construction drawings, as well as supporting calculations. Engineers propose new approaches to problems encountered during plan review and make recommendations for changes in methods, procedures, and/or design. This position has extensive client interaction and is responsible for technical documentation related to the plan review to include the Certified Verification Agent (CVA) reports for offshore facilities. Experience/Skills Required: Bachelor of Science degree or higher in an engineering discipline required. Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or Mechanical Engineering preferred. Other related engineering or technical disciplines considered based on experience. Three 3 years experience or more with independent design analysis of offshore mechanical and piping systems. Familiarity with applicable ABS Rules, and other industry standards strongly desired. Excellent communication and organizational skills, a detail oriented personality, and the ability to work cross-functionally with internal engineering teams as well as clients.
