Our client is an outstanding design and manufacturing company that produces design and manufacture key components for large ocean going marine vessels. These vessels range from pleasure Yachts to Utility vehicles like Tugs and even hovercraft. What we are really looking for: A design engineer who has experience in hull design of various large boats, ships, Yachts - Ocean based - or Navy Vessels - hulls and structure engineering - more experience the better -the candidate must have worked with marine structures extensively and has a 4 year degree in engineering or naval architecture.

Job Function: - Work closely with customers to engineer boats, engineer ships, engineer hovercraft and engineer unique marine vessels. - Some of the marine craft that you will engineer will be classified military based applications. - Work will involve primarily engineering the structure of marine craft, engineering the shape of the hull, contact with the water, speed engineering, performance engineering, comfort engineering, hull forms, hull arrangements, seakeeping i.e. maintenance engineering, seaworthiness certification testing and stability engineering. - Lead research teams when extensive modeling and simulation or verification and validation are required. - Provide presentations and create reports for research projects. - Conduct test and validation of marine structures. - Defense projects may include Hovercraft, Jet-skis, stealth boats, amphibious assault boats, coast guard vessels and some projects will involve upgrading and remanufacturing of these craft.

Requirements: Must have a Bachelors degree in Engineering or Naval Architecture. Must have prior experience using various design engineering tools for marine design and analysis. Experience with CAD is a plus. We are looking for an engineering professional not a cad designer Must be able to assist in designing tests for structured product validation and verification. Must be capable of obtaining a US Government SECRET security clearance and you should be authorized to work in the US. Must know your boat design or ship design or hovercraft design...We are NOT looking for your regular small pleasure craft design engineer - we are truly needing a Naval Architect type of an engineer someone with experience with ocean going utility boat engineering or ship engineering or ocean craft engineering expertise.
